Save for the name on top, I’m pleased to announce that the
Christmas stocking for our new addition is finished, thus completing a 15-month
“nesting” project. While I was not
impressed with the racial diversity of the designs offered by the stocking
manufacturer, I found that the leftover felt scraps from the previous six
stockings I’ve made (yes, do the math…our dog has a handmade stocking…I’m not
proud of it), provided the necessary colors to make the stocking appropriate
for our little one.
While I don’t think she’ll be home to enjoy it this year,
we’ll certainly hang it on the mantle with the rest and know that somewhere, on
the other side of the world, she’s likely been born and that God is paving the
way for all of us to be together under one roof.
And, speaking of paving the way…we’ve moved up another spot
to number “28” in the queue, waiting to be matched with our little lady.
