Major Accomplishment

Yesterday was exactly one month since we returned home from Ethiopia.  The day was also marked a significant achievement around here.  No, Baby A isn't walking on her own, but this is almost as big.

I made dinner for my family.  It included more than one dish and had items from several food groups.  It involved the use of the oven.  It was served at some point during the 6 o'clock hour.  It was eaten with pleasure by at least three members of my family (which is as much as I can ask).  It gave me hope that sometime in the future (maybe even before the end of 2013), I will be functioning like a normal person again.  And it made me appreciate, so much, all the amazing friends and neighbors (and a couple local take-out restaurants) that have made it possible for me to go a full month without having to spend one single second on meal planning and preparation.  It's been a good run.

You may continue to hold your breath for an announcement about the resumption of my daily house cleaning rotation...and if you come over, thank you for stepping over the dust bunnies and pretending that the kitchen counters aren't sticky.
